Worship services at Redeemer Lutheran Church are held on Sunday mornings at 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Both worship services enjoy the same style and format that encourages getting familiar with the Bible as passages are spoken and sung. We use liturgies from the Lutheran Service Book (LSB) in a traditional format. We encourage you to bring your Bible from home so that you can follow along during the Scripture readings and the sermon as well as the 9:30 AM Bible studies. Pew Bibles and hymnals are available.
Children are always welcome in our worship services. Services follow the ancient practice of the church year including the seasons of Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Holy Week and Easter, and Pentecost. The services are reverent, family friendly, and oriented around receiving God’s gifts of forgiveness and new life. We often include choirs, handbells, and other musical enhancements to the worship service.
With the exception of weeks when special events and holidays occur, we offer Wednesday evening Service of Light beginning at 6:30 pm. This is a brief service (30 minutes) preceded by fellowship (light refreshments) and followed by a Bible Study from 7:00 to 8:00 pm.
The first Sunday in October is usually our combined Service in the Park, held at the picnic shelter in Huntington Beach Central Park, followed by the annual Church and Preschool picnic. The shelter is located near the park entrance off Edwards. Details are published in advance in the church bulletin.
Church office hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Preschool office hours are Monday through Friday 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM.
We offer a staffed nursery during each of the Sunday morning services for children 5 years and younger. However, we encourage families to worship together in the Sanctuary.
Redeemer Lutheran Church celebrates the Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion) on the first and third Sundays of each month and on most other Sundays as well. If you are not a member and desire to participate in the Lord’s Supper, please speak to an elder or the pastor prior to the beginning of service. Everyone is welcome to come up during the distribution of the Lord’s Supper for a blessing.
