{"id":55,"date":"2019-07-01T16:59:21","date_gmt":"2019-07-01T23:59:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/redeemer-lutheran.net\/?page_id=55"},"modified":"2025-12-18T15:07:50","modified_gmt":"2025-12-18T23:07:50","slug":"services","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/redeemer-lutheran.net\/?page_id=55","title":{"rendered":"Worship Services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Regular worship services at Redeemer Lutheran Church are held on Sunday mornings at 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM.\u00a0 Both services enjoy the same style and format that encourages getting familiar with the Bible as passages are spoken and sung.\u00a0 We use liturgies from the Lutheran Service Book (LSB) in a traditional format.\u00a0\u00a0We encourage you to bring your Bible from home so that you can follow along during the Scripture readings and the sermon as well as during the 9:30 AM Bible study.\u00a0 Pew Bibles and hymnals are available.<\/p>\n<p>For those unable to attend in person due to health concerns (e.g. COVID-19) or other issues, online resources are available.\u00a0 Please navigate under Online Services for the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Video Services &#8211; live streams, service bulletins and recordings<\/li>\n<li>Online Giving<\/li>\n<li>Prayer Requests<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Links to Redeemer Prayer Requests and Private Holy Communion also are provided in each issue of Redeemer News. Contact the Church office at 714-846-6330 to request Private Holy Communion or submit a prayer request via email to <a href=\"mailto:churchoffice@redeemer-lutheran.net\">churchoffice@redeemer-<wbr \/>lutheran.net<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Children are always welcome in our worship services.\u00a0 Services follow the ancient practice of the church year including the seasons of Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Holy Week and Easter, and Pentecost. The services are reverent, family friendly, and oriented around receiving God\u2019s gifts of forgiveness and new life.\u00a0 We often include choirs, handbells, and other musical enhancements to the worship service.<\/p>\n<p>The first Sunday in October, or the last Sunday in September, is a combined Service followed by the annual Church and Preschool picnic.\u00a0 This was formerly held at the picnic shelter in Huntington Beach Central Park, but due to facility issues it is now held at Redeemer.\u00a0 Details will be published in advance in the church bulletin.<\/p>\n<p>Church office hours are Tuesday through Friday 9:00 AM \u2013 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM \u2013 4:00 PM. \u00a0Preschool office hours are Monday through Friday 6:30 AM \u2013 6:00 PM.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LORD\u2019S SUPPER<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Redeemer Lutheran Church celebrates the Lord\u2019s Supper (Holy Communion) on the first and third Sundays of each month and on most other Sundays as well. <u><a href=\"https:\/\/redeemer-lutheran.net\/lords-supper\/\">CLICK HERE<\/a><\/u> to learn more about our understanding of this sacred meal. If you are not a member and desire to participate in the Lord\u2019s Supper, please speak to an elder or the pastor prior to the beginning of service. Everyone is welcome to come up during the distribution of the Lord\u2019s Supper for a blessing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CONFESSION AND ABSOLUTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Congregational Confession and Absolution is integrated into our worship services.
